a christmas giveaway series

For the Eleventh Day of Christmas, the eleven pipers are piping about a little partnership that I have been working on for a while and am very excited to finally share! Introducing The Love Designed Life at Modern Milk, a curated collection of some of my favorite products for mama and baby at one of the best support centers for new mamas around.

I first met Modern Milk owners and husband/wife team Stephanie and Fred almost a year ago when they just opened their store. I had seen the store come together as it was on my route to my son’s preschool, and I was immediately intrigued, as I had had a similar resource when we lived in Los Angeles that was vital to me as a new mother when I had my first babe. I popped in one day and met with Stephanie, a former postpartum and labor and delivery nurse, so she could tell me more about her modern approach to helping moms with every aspect of new motherhood; from prenatal education to breastfeeding to baby sleep. And now they have added the NAMOMSTE wellness classes and lifestyle brand to their scope [more to come on that from me later].

Over the past several months, I have kept in touch with Fred and Stephanie and we have worked together on several projects, which has been fun and rewarding. So when they came to me to ask if I would like to curate my own little corner of products in there store, I jumped at the opportunity!

When I first decided I wanted to go into fashion as a profession, I was initially thinking I would end up more on the retail side, such as planning or buying for a major retailer or perhaps owning my own little boutique. I never thought I wanted to be a designer, but after attending school, I learned that that I really loved the creative process as well. That is why my former career of technical design was such a good fit. I was still on the production side and I got to be a part of the creative process, but I was also constantly in touch with the sales side and getting feedback from customers. Anyway, I digress. The point is that having a little corner in a retail space where I can share a little bit of me by way of things I love is a a tiny bit of a dream come true.
