friday faves: my day bag essentials
I have mentioned this before, but I sort of cringe at the term ‘diaper’ bag. A lot of my idealistic notions of motherhood have gone by the wayside three kids later for sure, but one thing that has held true for me is that I don’t want to carry around a bag, day in and day out, that doesn’t reflect my style. And as much stuff as babies and kids can sometimes require, I also don’t want to have to carry around an additional bag just for them. Another little thing I’ve learned after three: less is more. I try always to take the bare minimum amount of stuff everywhere we go now and I make my older two be responsible for what they need with them [water bottles, snacks, etc.]
So I guess you can call this my purse, or my diaper bag, but really it’s a hybrid of all the essentials I need to get us through the day. Actually this bag from Nena + Co is called the Day Bag II [each one is unique!], which is a perfect descriptor so let’s call it my day bag. It’s perfect for a trip to Trader Joe’s or any other daily mom-related task.
