the stuff little ones’ dreams are made of
When I first heard rumors about the collaboration between my former employer Monique Lhuillier and Pottery Barn Kids, I already was sure it would be the stuff little girls’ dreams were made of. I have always loved Monique’s uber-feminine aesthetic in her Bridal and Ready-to-Wear lines, which was what drew me to want to work for her from very early in my fashion career. She is also a fellow FIDM alum and a designer I have always admired. It took a few years and lots of hard work to get there, but I did and it was such an honor to have been a part of her team for a few years. It was truly a dream come true and such a great learning experience, and there is a part of me that still misses it every day.
Now three kids, one year, and a couple of states later, when it comes to shopping, I find myself doing it more for my kiddos than anyone else. And like most modern mothers, I love Pottery Barn Kids. So in a way, this collaboration feels personal [even though I technically wasn’t involved in creating it]! I guess now I need to have another girl. HA! Only kidding! We are [still] totally done with that, people.

The collection was inspired by Monique’s experience creating nurseries and bedrooms for her own two children, Sophia and Jack. Her dreamy and glamorous design aesthetic is clearly present in each and every piece and you can see her love for it come through. In honor of the collection just releasing last Friday, I thought I would just share a few of my favorite pieces from it.
Oh and by the way, there is also a classic looking boys’ collection as well, but of course all my favorites were from the girl’s collections! Why is it girls are so much more fun to shop for?
