store opening: sweet threads
A couple weeks ago, I went back to my beloved LA for the weekend to spend with my sister for some much needed girl time (aka, me time). We had an action-packed weekend of vegan food eating, beach going, farmers’ market shopping, yoga om-ing, friend visiting, from scratch cooking, and more eating. It was perfect.
It just so happened that the same weekend I was there, one of my insta-favorite online shops, Sweet Threads was having a grand opening party for their new store location in Long Beach. Normally if you live in LA, a trip down to Long Beach is quite a trek, but in this case, it was well worth it! This unique little store sells vintage and new kids’ clothing, designer kids’ labels, as well as some super unique small local brands and special exclusive collaborative designs.
And another added bonus of the event was that some of my favorite mamas, whom I have met through instagram, were there with their littles too! It was super fun to meet them all in person and was probably the only moment I really wished I had my littles there too. But I picked them up a couple souvenirs (a Rain + Skye fringe tiny boho bag for little A, and a Tiny Whales hat for big A) to ease my mom guilt. Look out for snapshots of my kiddos wearing their new threads on my instagram feed soon!
The event was complete with sweet treats (of course) including a candy bar by Sugarfina, chocolate milk for the kids and coffee for the grown-ups by Makai Coffee, a table of gourmet macaroons and pastries by Som Crafty Sisters, and a line out the door of people ready to purchase their goods!
I am totally obsessed with the store’s carefully curated vintage toys that lined the shelves behind the cash wrap. Also the mint/pastel color theme of the store and party was perfection.
I left feeling so happy for the chance to connect with a few of my favorite people, having had some retail therapy, and sticking my toes in the cold pacific water. Congratulations Shella on a smashingly successful grand opening and thanks for having us there!
