10 hotels for your disneyland vacay
I have always been a HUGE fan of Disney. Starting from the time I was young and obsessed with Disney princess movies, up to the time we lived in SoCal where my first two babies were born, and still to this day! The magic is just undeniable. I have also always dreamed of being an annual pass holder at Disneyland too, but alas, my husband is not as big of a Disney fan as I am. So that is not our current reality. But I digress! Of course over the last couple of years as the world has changed, very much including the way we all travel, so too have the frequency of our family’s Disney trips.
Last week, when I had the opportunity to visit Disneyland for the first time since the pandemic with the team at Get Away Today, I jumped at the chance! Part of the fun of this trip was I got to tour 10 Anaheim area hotel options that are perfect for your Disneyland vacay! I knew there were so many options in the area from my own previous trip research, so I thought it would be really cool to actually go and see some of them in person and help you guys break them down a bit so you have more information when planning your own Disneyland vacation!
A few things first, before I dive in: all of these hotels are very close to Disneyland, but I would probably advise not quite walking distance for your littlest legs. They all range from about 1-2 miles away from the Park, which I personally think is walkable for me, but with my kids and after a full day at the park, maybe not! I will say we have stayed in one of these properties as a family before when I could still fit all three kids in a stroller, and my husband and I walked home from the park one night with the kids in the stroller (they all totally passed out immediately!) and it was honestly fine for us. The benefit of going a little “further” out is that you really get more bang for your buck, meaning these hotels and the exclusive deals through Get Away today make it more than worth it. I will highlight all of these perks as I go through each hotel, below.
Also note that all of these hotels are either on the ART (Anaheim Regional Transportation) shuttle route or have exclusive hotel shuttles for an additional fee. This was the hotel we stayed at, and I can see why it is such a popular choice among Disneyland visitors. This is one of Get Away Today’s most-often booked hotels! Offering Family Suites boasting 2 bedrooms (with 2 double beds each) and 2 bathrooms, or 1 bedroom 2 queen suites, this ALL suites hotel offers plenty of options for your family size and needs.
Highlights: Each fabulous guest room comes equipped with a full kitchen and free in-room high speed internet. Guests can enjoy an amazing outdoor pool, BBQ area, basketball court and deluxe hot breakfast buffet each morning.

Hampton Inn & Suites Anaheim/Garden Grove
One of the things that makes this smaller property especially family-friendly is that they don’t offer space to for any corporate meeting or large convention groups. I also like that they offer both suites and standard rooms, to meet your family’s specific needs.
Highlights: large, recently renovated fitness center, friendly staff that will gladly help educate you about the area, washers and dryers on property, Joe’s Italian Ice (a local hot spot) is close by.

Hilton Garden Inn Anaheim/Garden Grove
I stayed at this same property with my family a few years back! Now, the hotel is in the process of a full renovation, and you can already see how beautiful it’s going to be when they are done. I will show you here the renovated room look, but the lobby will also boast a new breakfast area, bar, and a modern, larger gym.
Highlights: (in process) of a full renovation, cook-to-order breakfast available (for an additional fee), only standard rooms in this property, but microwave and refrigerator included in all rooms, and you can request an adjoining room for your larger party.
Distance from the Park: 1.5 miles
Unique Features: Each guest room comes equipped with “Garden Sleep System” deluxe bedding, microwave and refrigerator. Peloton bikes coming soon to the new gym!

Hyatt Regency Orange County
This hotel boats major “wow” factor when you first enter the grand lobby, while still being at a very reasonable rate for Disneyland area hotels. Offering both fully-renovated standard rooms and more than half of the property boasting suites (including some family suites with bunkbeds for the kids!) this property has a lot to offer!
Highlights: Kick back at one of two fabulous outdoor swimming pools, work up a sweat in the 24-hour fitness center and have endless fun playing on the Recreation Deck. Plentiful dining options both inside the hotel and in the surrounding area make this a convenient and family friendly option for your vacation.
Distance from the Park: 1.4 miles
Unique Features: This property offers an exclusive direct shuttle to and from the park (for an additional fee). ART Shuttle does not currently stop at this hotel. A full-service Starbucks inside the hotel also us a big plus to avoid the lines when you get to the park!

Delta Hotels By Marriott
This full service hotel recently underwent a multi-million renovation offering a beautiful new, modern look in each of their spacious guest rooms. Guests can take a dip in the outdoor pool featuring five poolside cabanas offered on a complimentary basis, or grab a bite to eat at their delicious in-house restaurant.
Highlights: Beautifully updated gym with modern equipment, free wifi, and lots of charging ports in the newly updated guest rooms.

The Sheraton Garden Grove Anaheim South Hotel is a perfect hotel for couples or families, offering modern, all standard rooms.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Anaheim Main Gate Area
I love an all-suites option for families, because I know for our family of 5, that is the only way we prefer to travel! The Homewood has it all, with flex communal areas in the lobby and by the pool bbq where you are welcome to bring and even cook your own food, gathering with friends and family.
Highlights: Each family-friendly suite comes with a separate living room area and is equipped with a full kitchen.

Embassy Suites Hotel Anaheim South
This was our final hotel for the evening and we enjoyed a cocktail and dinner reception here in the lobby area restaurant. It is the closest Embassy Suites to the Disneyland Resort. This safari-themed hotel has an atrium with ponds, greenery, and bridges with live koi fish and turtles.
Highlights: Each family-friendly suite comes with a separate living room area and is equipped with a mini kitchen. In addition to all rooms offering suites, you can additionally request an adjoining suite for your bigger party.
Distance from the Park: 1 mile
Unique Features: Kids will especially love the animated life-size lion that sleeps atop a rock in the atrium and “wakes up” each hour with a roar. Guests can enjoy a complimentary full breakfast buffet complete with cook-to-order items and free snacks and drinks at the manager’s receptions.
