things we love: foxy mama
I happened upon Foxy Mama a little later than I wish I would have. The clever ladies behind this service are on a mission to help pregnant mamas be their most stylish selves. Which is amazing because it can be so hard to feel stylish when you are pregnant. Your body is changing and you are not sure if you want to buy a bunch of ‘maternity’ clothes. Foxy Mama box to the rescue! You simply fill out their very thorough style survey, and they send you a box of several items to try. You can subscribe for your entire pregnancy or only for one box at a time. And, you only pay for what you keep and shipping is free both ways! It’s a win/win/win.
Unfortunately for me, I had already had baby number three when I discovered this great little service, so I thought I had missed out. But then good news – they also offer a nursing box as part of their services! I took the survey and this is what they sent me. Naturally, I had to take pics of it all to show you guys since I didn’t have any other adult opinions in the room. So many great options, and it was so convenient to try them on in my own home while the kiddos were napping.
look one // Loyal Hana crosshatch black + white nursing top
I love my Loyal Hana nursing dress with those signature hidden zippers that got me like whoa, and I seriously considered keeping this top for the same reason. But I decided the print was a little busy for me.
look two // Seraphine white and mint tiered nursing top
This top had a great fit and actually did conceal my nursing bra strap, which I did not think it would. I liked the color combo, but the overall style was not really me. Plus I decided I did not really want to mess with those tiny buttons when trying to nurse my babe.
look three // Loyal Hana marni jumpsuit in black
Now this, I love. Made from a super-soft knit, it feels like wearing pajamas [am I wearing pajamas??], but is totally acceptable for daytime wear, like, outside of the house. The hidden zippers are there too, but you could also just pull down a strap. Easy-peasy and a definite keeper.
look four // Olian black and white chevron nursing dress [similar]
This dress was very well made and would be super cute on the right gal, but again, just not my style.
look five // Splendid chalet vest
This piece is not specifically maternity or nursing, which is part of what I love about it! I had a similar sweater already in my closet when my son was born and found it to be quite handy as a nursing cover, so I knew this one would have the same benefit. Also, we live in the desert, so a sleeveless sweater is a great way to add some fall style to my wardrobe without adding too much heat.
I also received a white nursing tank by Ripe Maternity. I am not sharing the picture of that one because it’s more of an underpinning and not something anyone needs to see right now. I do definitely recommend nursing tanks to any new mama, but I already had a similar one so I sent the Ripe Maternity one back.
Overall, I was so pleased with the box that the Foxy Mama ladies sent my way! I am so happy to have a couple of new pieces to update my nursing wardrobe and it was so convenient. Also, they personally followed up with me for my feedback on the box and return shipping was a breeze. Whether you are in the first trimester or the fourth [like me], you should def give Foxy Mama a try!
