wedding style: a boho desert elopement
floral design by: the florette
My talented friend Stacey of Dream Photography Studio just got married last weekend! She and her fiance have been together for a long time, so they decided to keep their wedding small and elope. But of course, as a photographer, the most important thing for Stacey was the pictures! So she came to me for a little help styling her big day. I was beyond honored.
Stacey knew that she wanted to shoot outside under the stars with her fellow photographer friend, Courtney Sargent Photography, so we decided to keep the colors mostly neutral and soft to reflect the natural landscape of the Sedona backdrop where they would exchange their vows. She started by going dress shopping with a friend and fell in love with this gorgeous lace and tulle gown. In the below inspiration board, it is pictured in a blush color, but we both loved the light gold lining / ivory lace colorway for Stacey.
Once the dress was settled, we talked more about the overall look, and I put together this inspiration for her. One of Stacey’s friends even handmade her dreamcatchers to hang!
In addition to her future husband, Stacey also needed help styling the other love of her life, her teenage son. We wanted them both to look nice, but also not too formal. Here are the shopping guides I came up with for each of them:
groom: three piece textured suit // jacket // vest // pants // white shirt // knitted sock tie // tan boot
In the end, Stacey decided she did want a pop of color, so we thought the bouquet was the perfect place to add it in! My friend Jenna of The Florette added in a few fuchsia peonies to her lovely garden bouquet of whites, neutrals, and succulents in the above lead photo.
// update: // I just got a few sneak peek photos from Stacey’s photographer Courtney Sargent Photography! So much talent in these beautiful photos. Hair by Mariana Marie Studio. Makeup by Breanna Thomas. Dyyyying over them all.
