styling the florette’s fam
I am so excited to be styling again for my friend Brandi of B.Hansen Photography‘s beginning photography workshop again this coming Saturday, November 14th! If you haven’t signed up for this already, you should definitely shoot her an email for all the details ASAP as there are only a couple of spots left! [[email protected]] Spoiler alert: there will be tons of info on using your DSLR camera, networking, snacks, and F U N. It is such perfect timing too, just in time for the holidays and capturing all of those sweet family moments.
For this workshop, I am designing a full Thanksgiving tablescape. In our first workshop as well as our most recent one, I just did some centerpieces and small vignettes for the indoor close-up section of the workshop. But since Thanksgiving is right around the corner, I thought it would be appropriate to go for the full effect. Plus, it helps keep me inspired for my own family’s tablescape, as we are back to hosting this year in our family.
In the past two workshops, I insisted on bringing in flowers and flower crowns, which I arranged myself. But for this session, Brandi is bringing in a professional in the form of the adorable Jenna of The Florette. If you haven’t heard of them yet, let me just tell you, the Florette is the cutest concept. It is a little blue truck [set up similarly to a food truck] that travels around the Phoenix area and sets up at farmers’ markets and events to bring beautiful flowers to everyone. And for this workshop, we will be photographing Jenna and her equally adorable family for the shootout at the end!
Jenna and her family have a totally cool hipster vibe, so I wanted to try to work with that and at the same time, bring them together in a cohesive look by keeping the color palette consistent with all family members. I’m usually a fan of white, light, and nuetral, but as this is a fall shoot, I wanted to bring in a jewel town (amethyst) and soft pink, and the base neutral here is more black than white. But of course, I always have to have a touch of my white boho vibe in there.
Oh and did I forget to mention that our workshop this time is being held at the beautiful Crew & Lu‘s studio? I am totally obsessed with this woman’s gorgous children’s clothing line, so naturally, I am styling Jenna’s girls in head to toe Crew & Lu.
